Not so distant

8 Framed Multimedia silkscreen print (300 x 220 cm)

Jonathan Sullam’s silkscreen prints are relevant to image processing work. They are the product of a digital printing technique on photographic paper, and an image enhancement through the use of black lacquer paint. The selected images feature collage compositions or re-appropriated images conveying landscapes in contradiction with their own weight, or in a state of free fall.

Not So Distant is an attempt to withhold the dramatic fall of the deep-water horizon oilrig that went down in 2010 in the waters of New Mexico.
