Wood, polyester, resin and black paint (190 x 80 x 12cm)
The word sequences appearing in Jonathan Sullam’s sculptures tend towards ambiguity. Fractured or open-ended, they enlist the viewer to ponder their source or their destination. The text here appears to dissolve gradually, as it is read, into the black liquid. Content and form are here frozen in time on the verge of transformation.
