Burn or fade (Neil Young you rock my soul)

In I979, Neil Young sang « Hey, Hey, My, My » (Into the Black), a song from his album « Rust Never Sleeps ». The composition’s key phrase « it’s better to burn out than fade away » (complete in its acoustic version) proposes a radical and intense way towards living one’s life – to burn or be consumed. This choice requires an honest self-assessment by the reader or viewer, a review of one’s past, an appraisal of one’s own past actions. Just in the same way we must make a judgement on the artwork before us.
